And just like that... one year of marriage flew by! We spent our anniversary weekend in the Texas hill country, which never disappoints. La Cantera Resort and Spa is a great destination for a little getaway and just a few hours from Houston. We wanted to unwind and have a relaxing weekend and this place was perfect for that.

We disconnected from our phones (for the most part) and enjoyed each other's company while reflecting on the past year. I think we would both agree that sometimes he is impatient and sometimes I get extra sassy. We don't always see eye to eye, things are far from being perfect, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't want to boast but this last year has been amazing. I had always heard that the first year of marriage is one of the hardest, but we didn't feel like that at all. Maybe it was because we had already lived together, or maybe it was our cute fur babies Sir Theodore Costanza and Elaine Sparkles that always brighten up our day.
Not much changed after we said I do, but we have learned so much over the last few months. Can't wait to see what year 2 has in store for us. Happy anniversary Mr. Ruvalcalcaba!

I shot a wedding at this place in May of last year and the couple was thrilled! The wedding venues had the ceremony out on the patio then came inside to a long-table format reception which was perfect. Their cake table was backed by some stunning views.
